Religious Education

Faith Formation: Faith formation is a program designed to prepare parishioners to grow in Christian faith and understanding. It is a dedication and devotion that is always in progress, beginning at birth and ending at death. The Immaculate Conception Church offers various educational programs to assist with this goal.

We welcome all families to our Faith Formation Program. It is our Parish's way of teaching children and young adults the basic understanding of Christian beliefs and our Roman Catholic faith and traditions.  Although classes are conducted by trained volunteers, we recognize that the parents are the first and most important religious educators of their children who will reinforce the lessons presented in our classes and regularly bring their children to the celebrations of the Eucharist at weekend masses and seasonal devotions as described in the weekly bulletins.

Our Religious Education/Faith Formation Program begins Pre-K and continues through 10th grade.

Our Fall semester begins mid - September and continues through the middle of December. The Spring semester begins the week following the school winter break at the end of February and concludes at the end of May. Please review the Religious Education/Faith Formation news in our weekly church bulletin. Please visit our Announcements Page for current schedule.

Reconciliation and Eucharist preparation takes place in the 1st and 2nd grades. The second grade class will celebrate First Reconciliation during the Lenten season. First Eucharist will be celebrated during the month of June on Corpus Christi Sunday.

Our program for grades 7 – 10 is held on Mondays from 7:00 – 8:00p.m.

All classes are held in the Church Hall, across the street from the church.

Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Christian Initiation of Adults is a process in the church which allows adult men and women to be initiated into the Catholic Christian Community through the celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. We offer an invitation to any adult who may be interested in being baptized and for celebration Confirmation and First Eucharist. Perhaps you know of a family member, friend, or neighbor who has expressed an interest in the Catholic community and would like to know more. Let them know about our invitation. Inquiry sessions begin in the Fall. This is the first step in the process.
